So when people interview to join Hampton, @jspeiser watches 100% of the interviews. His job is to approve or deny each member. He's looking to see if they'll be committed to their Core group, show confidentiality, and have candor. Also making sure they're legit and within our ICP (internet/tech businesses doing $3m-$50m). He denies a ton of people. We also do a ton of research on each applicant before and after the interview. After the interview, the community can veto an applicant (self-policing). And before they can join Core, they have to submit financials (Joe's the only one who can see - not even me). I think a lot of people think it's bullsh*t when we say we vet people. So I wanted to show one part of the process. Hampton can be a huge company. But it gets there via retention...we need your Core group, your city chapter, and the wider community to be vetted and curated so people want to stay for a decade.
