What should I do if my withdrawal was sent to the wrong user ID (UID)?

If you accidentally sent a withdrawal to the wrong user ID (UID) of another OKX user, please note that we can’t directly reverse or recover funds once they’ve been credited to another user’s account. However, there are steps you can take to try and resolve the situation:

1. Verify the transaction details

  • Double-check the UID entered during the withdrawal process.

  • Ensure that the withdrawal was completed successfully and credited to the other UID.

2. Contact OKX Support immediately

  • Reach out to our in-app Support team or submit a request via our OK Assistant on the OKX Support Center.

  • Provide the following details:

    • Your UID and account information (for example, name, email address, date of birth)

    • The recipient’s UID (if known)

    • Reference ID

    • Date, time, and amount of the withdrawal

Our Support team will review the case and attempt to reach out to the recipient on your behalf.

Notes:

  • We'll not disclose another user’s personal information due to privacy and compliance requirements.

  • The return of funds depends entirely on the recipient’s cooperation. If the user agrees, we’ll facilitate communication and the return process.

  • If the recipient doesn’t respond or refuses, we can’t forcefully retrieve the funds.

How do I avoid this in the future?

  • Always double-check the UID or withdrawal address before confirming a transfer.

  • Consider using the Address Book feature in your OKX account to save frequently used addresses safely.

  • Enable security reminders and confirmations in your account settings to reduce mistakes.
