AAVE & POLYGON WAGER $100K ON KAT+POL MARKET CAP 🙀 🐱 Yesterday, @lemiscate the Voldemort of Aave wagered $50K that the combined market cap of @0xPolygon & @katana would be LOWER than the then POL one in 6 months. 🐱‍👤 When @0xMarcB the degen CEO of Polygon Labs took the bet, Voldemort shifted the original goalpost to the higher POL market cap of March 9. To be fair, I'd be upset too. Aave is missing out on the $200M initial TVL that Katana raised recently as well as future TVL that would amount in the BILLIONS! 😿 In December 2024, Voldemort led a very public chastising of Polygon for a failed improvement proposal to connect the chain to @agglayer's vaultbridge & even got an Aave DAO proposal to pull out of Polygon passed. Unfortunately, competitors filled the gap & captured marketshare. Also, Aave is STILL on Polygon today. 🤷‍♂️ In June 2025, Voldemort made a public bet that Polygon & Katana would falter & the degen CEO stepped in to defend the honor of his community with $50K of his own money. 😻 Honestly, I'm glad that the Katana team had the fortitude to pick the best bid, even though it meant turning down a sore loser who would retaliate. Nobody wants a partner who throws hissy fits when things don't go their way.
